ORIGINS / HISTORY
A graduate of Harvard Business School, Melanie set her sights on Pisco with the aim to create the world's greatest expression of the spirit. Since then, Melanie has sought to refine and improve Macchu Pisco including single varietal bottling and Nusta into the Macchu Pisco range. The grapes are key to understanding why Pisco is such a special spirit and the quality is preserved with a strict DO (Denomination of Origin) from which the grapes can be sourced, similar to the AOC rules of France. There are 8 grape varieties, each with its own individual expression that can be herbal to floral to citrus. Pisco is truly a "terrier" spirit and a clear expression of Peru's unique soil and varying environments.
